In 2000 our Managing Director, Alice, was approached by the Scottish Independent Nurseries Association (SINA) to establish a training centre particularly for private sector and partnership childcare organisations. The centre she built up with SINA offered SQA qualifications (SVQ levels 2, 3 and 4) as well as the Personal Development Programme (PDP) – courses for the professional development of childcare staff.

The centre ran very successfully until in summer 2004 SINA offered Alice the chance to purchase the training centre. Recognising a great opportunity when it presents itself, Alice agreed to take over the facility she had been running for SINA for the previous 4 years. For those who have already attended one of our training sessions, the only change you will see is in our name – the staff, the venue and the excellent standard of training you have come to expect will remain the same.

The popularity of the PDP courses has been built on the range and diversity of the topics; the use of presenters who are renowned specialists in their fields; keeping the content of the courses up to date, reflecting current issues, policies and practices; offering courses which cover all aspects of professional childcare from birth to primary level, for key workers through to management/owners. Naturally, we will continue in this vain, building on past success while continuing to improve our practice, delivery and service.
