‘Playing with the Curriculum’ – A Series of Masterclasses
For educators involved with children in Primary 1 – 3
We are delighted to offer a series of masterclasses which have been developed as an exciting and innovative response to both National and Global needs.
Why The Need?
“There is a strong link between teachers’ professional skills and competences and the quality of children’s learning and experiences. Ensuring the highest professional standards for all teachers in Scotland will help to ensure the highest standards and expectations for all children. ” 2017 National Improvement Framework and Improvement Plan for Scottish Education.
Each of the days have at the core a focus on improving attainment in literacy while fully considering the health and wellbeing of every child.
The main aim of our training is to fully recognise that ‘education is key’ to improving children’s outcomes and ensuring the attainment gap begins to close.
You will be involved in dynamic learning opportunities that offer the best training experience. The content will be up to date, informative and engaging. You will be actively involved in a fun, informative and memorable way, leaving with more confidence and a vast array of ideas and thinking to use in the classroom.
The emphasis in experiential learning is on the process of learning and not on the product, output or end result. That is not to say that there is no purpose or intention to the content.
Each day will have a mixture of theory, curriculum and practical examples for learning and play.
“We want all new teachers to develop as enquiring professionals who are highly confident in teaching literacy and numeracy, supporting health and wellbeing, using technology and data effectively to enhance learning and teaching, and ensuring equality. This is critical to ensure the strongest possible progression in learning for all children.” 2017 National Improvement Framework and Improvement Plan for Scottish Education.
